Manningham City Council, in partnership with Manningham YMCA Youth Services - FReeZA Fusion, secured a $10,000 grant from the Office of Youth as part of the Victoria Rocks initiative - allowing the purchase of music and sound equipment for Manningham’s youth, with a view to increasing young people’s access to community-based activities and the opportunity to build on skills and experiences and explore career pathways in the music, arts and entertainment industries.
The new music and sound equipment includes:
- Powered RCF Speakers (with stands and speaker bags)
- Microphones
- Direct Injection Box
- Microphone Stands
- Drum kit
- Mixing Board
- Leads and lights
- Road cases and bags for all microphones, stands and cables.

The equipment is available for hire from July 1 and can be accessed by all young people in Manningham. There are no hire fees for the equipment, however, a refundable bond is payable when picking up the equipment and will be refunded upon return and inspection of the equipment by the FReeZA Project Worker.
All bookings to hire the equipment are managed by the FReeZA Fusion Committee. The equipment can be used by local bands and musicians for gigs, rehearsals or music events within the Manningham area.
