Past FReeZA Reviews FReeZA Fusion has been up and running since 2006, in which time, the Fusion crew have developed and hosted some pretty awesome events. Check out some of the highlights from past events below. | PALOOZA Battle of The Bands - July 2009 |
By Michael

FReeZA Palooza started with an unexpected line-up change, with Andrew coming in off less then 24 hours notice to play an acoustic performance for everyone, with covers and originals it was a great build-up to what would be a great night.
After Andrew it was Prelude To Doomsday's turn to show us why they should play at Pushover 2010. With a tight set and a number of supporters, there was no reason they shouldn't be.
Punk boys Admit One were next on the bill and were a highlight of the night. They played all their catchy punky tunes and followed it up with a cover of Blink-182's "What's My Age Again?" which defiantly won over the crowd.
For Our Hero next played for the legion of fans who came out to see them, and gave them what they had payed for and more.
Another unexpected line-up change had caused another band to play with less than 24 hours notice, and this time it was John Anthony and The Fatboys. A strong band playing strong popular covers. The next band didn't mess around. Steelar displayed to the crowd why they were bigger and better then they were in 2008. They were hardcore, they were thresh and they were metal.
Plan The Escape are an up-and-coming band for the Melbourne scene, sounding somewhat similar to City Escape, there's no reason they shouldn't be huge.
Last, and in this case, not least were Lesson Of Her Death, a band well on their way to being as big as any other band after playing with the big and the small names in the local scene. At the end of the night, only one band can take home the prize and we are proud to say that this year, it was Lesson Of Her Death with Admit One in a close second place.
Well done to all the bands who played, it was a great night. Check out the photos
| TRUCKSTAND Live Music & Skate Event - February 2009 |
By Michael

On February 28th, The Truck Stand rocked Warrandyte. With five bands and a youth skate comp, it's fair to say everyone had an awesome day. For Our Hero kicked off the bands, with their hooky and witty driven pop rock songs, these guys are likely to follow any band such as The Cab or even Fall Out Boy. The local act for the day, Mad Dash & The Hypehnators came to amaze the crowd. And it's fair to say they did just that. With a sax and an African drum, they are already on their way to their own unique sound. With bands such as Rise Against and Blink-182 as just a few of their influences, Up An At Em were next with their Punk/Hardcore styled music. The band has been around for a while, and is still on their way up. Hardcore band Apocalypse Is Me hit the stage and the punters with their heavy screamo music. The band hasn't been around for long, but has already made their mark, bringing along many of their fans to the show. Last up to finish off the day were Picture Perfect Skys, finishing an awesome day with their awesome brand of Pop Rock. | HARDCORE HALLOWEEN - October 2008 | By Ramsay & Jaymee

Hardcore Halloween began as it always does - in spooky style and with a bang. The event kicked off with a monstrous set courtesy of My Own Enemy - their constumes as scary as their tunes were wicked and with a warm welcome from the intimate audience. 23:19 were next to grace the stage, accompanied on the night by many loyal fans decked out in their grossest gear. Their show lived up to everyones expectations and did not fail to impress. Next up were Fusion gig verterans, Beneath the Rising Tide, whose performance since their last Fusion show had only increased to higher standards. Forgiven Rival, having played with bands of international acclaim, finished off the night with an electrifying set, playing tracks fromt their debut album, 'This is a War'. | ROKTEMBER - September 2008 |
By Jaymee

Opening the night were local pop-punk heroes Best Before, with a show that set a high standard for the rest of the night, capturing the audience with their signature cutesy tunes and engaging crowd talk. Ashley's Affair were next to hit the stage, also pulling off a terrific set. Next up were For Our Hero who had a rock star introduction by their very own MC. The punters really went wild for the boys, with next to no one able to stand still. Wrapping up the night were A Boy Called Britney, technical difficulties failing to dampen their performance.
